Before You Book

What we need from you before the event date.

Private rental bookings start with a request that the FOURTEN owner reviews and approves. Once approved, you'll receive a setup link by text.
Every private rental host signs a digital Private Rental Agreement before the date. The agreement is binding under the Maryland Uniform Electronic Transactions Act.
Host provides a certificate of commercial general liability insurance of at least $1,000,000 per occurrence, naming FOURTEN as additional insured, before the event.
Any materials that reference FOURTEN must be submitted for review before publication. FOURTEN rentals are private-rental-only; public paid-admission nightlife marketing and third-party marketing language are not advertised by the venue.
Private rentals expected to exceed 75 guests or featuring amplified sound will have Maryland-licensed security on-site, in a number set by FOURTEN. A corresponding security fee is included on the host's invoice.
Host cancellations must be in writing at least seven (7) days before the event for any refund to apply. Closer cancellations forfeit the deposit.
Section reservations are for an approved private rental night — guests reserve a section for that approved rental date, not the venue itself. Paying the deposit through Square holds your section for that date and does not transfer to another date.

During the Private Rental

Rules everyone on the floor follows.

Food service is provided through FOURTEN's catering arrangement (Proper Cuisine) unless the host has an approved outside food caterer named on the agreement. Outside food is otherwise not permitted on the premises.
On non-BYOB nights, alcohol is served exclusively by FOURTEN's contracted catering (Proper Cuisine) under the venue's Baltimore City liquor license — no outside alcohol allowed.
On BYOB-designated nights, FOURTEN does not sell or serve alcohol. Guests may bring their own under the venue's posted BYOB rules; the host is responsible for guest conduct and for ensuring compliance with venue rules.
No one under 21 may be served, possess, or consume alcohol on any night — BYOB or otherwise. Hosts must cooperate with all age-verification and ID checks.
Total attendance, including the host and invitees, must not exceed the posted maximum occupancy set by the Baltimore City Fire Department.
Section reservations must be checked in by 12:30 AM. After 12:30 AM, unclaimed sections may be released and resold to walk-in guests.
Exits, fire lanes, and emergency equipment must stay clear at all times.
Sound levels are capped by FOURTEN and the Baltimore City Noise Control Ordinance. All amplified sound ends at the venue's posted cut-off, with a reasonable wind-down period.
No discrimination against any guest, staff member, or invitee — federal, Maryland, and Baltimore City civil-rights laws apply.
No controlled substances; no firearms or weapons (except by Maryland-licensed, bonded, and insured security personnel engaged by FOURTEN); no defacement of the premises; no conduct that creates immediate safety risk.
Section bookings: the remaining balance plus a 20% gratuity is paid to your table-service team member when you place your order.
FOURTEN may deny entry to, remove, or end the private rental for any guest or behavior that's unsafe, unlawful, or out of policy.

After the Private Rental

How fees, damages, and disputes are settled.

Private rental hosts owe the agreed-upon room-use, catering, security, cleaning, and service fees per FOURTEN's current rate sheet, plus Maryland sales and use tax.
FOURTEN may withhold any portion of the deposit to cover damages, excessive cleaning, lost or stolen property, or noise / code violations.
Damage repair and lost-revenue costs in excess of the deposit are due on demand.
FOURTEN may use approved rental materials for post-rental documentation or marketing only as allowed in the signed agreement.
Any dispute about the booking is governed by Maryland law and resolved in the Circuit Court for Baltimore City.
